Radiology prescriptions in Hicksville, NY

If you’ve had a reaction to contrast dye, or you feel anxious in a scanner, your care team may prescribe medication to take before your appointment. We fill it in advance, explain the timing, and deliver it free so it’s on hand when you need it.

Coverage and prior authorization

Premedication prescriptions are usually low-cost generics that most plans cover. If a claim is rejected, we tell the radiology office or your referring doctor what the plan needs, and we tell you the cash price so you can fill it before your scan date.

Premedication timing is usually tied to your exact appointment time and often starts the night before. Follow the schedule from your care team, and arrange a ride home if you were prescribed a sedating medication.

Questions

When should I pick up my premedication?

At least a day or two before your scan, so you have it when the first dose is due. We can also deliver it free.

Who prescribes my premedication, my doctor or the imaging center?

Either may. If you’ve had a contrast reaction before, tell the imaging center when you book so the right clinician can send a prescription to us in time.

Working with your prescriber

How we work with your radiology office

  1. We read the rejection

We find out why the plan didn’t pay: a prior authorization, step therapy, a quantity limit or a drug that isn’t on the formulary.

  2. We send the plan’s criteria

Your prescriber decides whether to submit a request and provides the clinical information the plan asks for.

  3. We follow it through

We check the status with your plan and keep you updated until there’s a decision.

  4. We fill and deliver

Once it’s approved, we fill your prescription and deliver it, or have it ready for pickup in Hicksville.
