Physical medicine and rehabilitation prescriptions in Hicksville, NY

Rehabilitation after an injury, stroke or surgery often pairs therapy with medication. We fill prescriptions from physiatrists, explain how each one fits your daily routine, and deliver free so your therapy appointments can be your only trips.

Coverage and prior authorization

Topical anti-inflammatories and lidocaine patches often need a prior authorization, and some muscle relaxants have quantity limits. We check your plan before filling, tell your physiatrist’s office what the plan needs, and share lower-cost alternatives for them to consider.

Some muscle relaxants are controlled substances and must be e-prescribed under New York’s I-STOP law, with limited exceptions. Many cause drowsiness, so ask our pharmacists before combining them with alcohol or other sedating medications.

Questions

Can I use a topical anti-inflammatory along with an oral one?

Ask your prescriber before combining them. Our pharmacists can review your list and flag duplicate anti-inflammatory ingredients, including in over-the-counter products.

My lidocaine patch was rejected. What are my options?

We’ll check why. Plans often require a prior authorization or cover only certain strengths. Lower-strength patches are sold over the counter, and we can compare prices while your physiatrist’s office works on the request.

Working with your prescriber

How we work with your physical medicine & rehabilitation office

  1. We read the rejection

We find out why the plan didn’t pay: a prior authorization, step therapy, a quantity limit or a drug that isn’t on the formulary.

  2. We send the plan’s criteria

Your prescriber decides whether to submit a request and provides the clinical information the plan asks for.

  3. We follow it through

We check the status with your plan and keep you updated until there’s a decision.

  4. We fill and deliver

Once it’s approved, we fill your prescription and deliver it, or have it ready for pickup in Hicksville.
